▼About Nōgenzan Kōkyū-ji Temple\
Located near Shōseien Garden, the garden of Higashi Hongan-ji Temple, this temple is situated in the city yet remains relatively quiet, surrounded by nature, and is only about a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station. \
It is a temple of the Otani School of Jōdo Shinshū. Although its exact origins are unclear, it boasts a long history.
Birds flit about the temple grounds, and a pleasant breeze flows through the spacious 30-tatami-mat main hall. From the main hall, bathed in soft lighting, you can also enjoy views of the charming inner courtyard.

To ensure consideration for neighbors and prevent disputes, the following activities are prohibited.
If these rules are not followed, we may ask you to stop using the space on the day of your reservation.

・Activities such as calligraphy that make it difficult to restore the tatami mats or other furnishings to their original condition are not permitted.

・Activities involving vigorous movements, such as jumping or slamming on the tatami mats.

・Activities involving the use of paint or pens.

・No open flames (anything that produces smoke or poses a fire hazard).

・Political activities (including speeches and election campaigning) and all religious events not related to traditional Buddhism.

・Shouting, causing a disturbance, or loitering outside the venue (near the entrance, in common areas, the garden, other rooms, etc.).
・Acts that deface or damage the premises.

・Any other acts contrary to public order and morals.

・If you are holding a tea ceremony, please bring all necessary items, including water.

・Playing musical instruments that produce sound is permitted only during daytime hours.

・Please refrain from using percussion instruments such as taiko drums.

・As this facility’s electrical system is comparable to that of a standard residential home, please refrain from using equipment that requires a large amount of power.

・For security reasons, security cameras are installed.

・If any damage occurs to the temple’s furnishings during your stay, you will be charged the actual repair costs.

・We cannot be held responsible for the theft or loss of valuables during your stay. Please take care of your belongings yourself.

・Entry into the inner sanctuary is strictly prohibited.

・Please refrain from photographing the principal image of the Buddha. Except for Buddhist services, the gold sliding doors of the inner sanctuary will remain closed.　　

・On the day of your reservation, we may be forced to cancel your reservation if a funeral service is scheduled in the main hall. Please be aware that no cancellation fees or penalties will be charged in such cases, and we ask for your understanding of this policy prior to making your reservation.
